Visit Virgo

Come to visit the biggest gravitational wave detector in Europe !

EGO regularly welcomes visitors so that they can learn more about Virgo and the gravitational wave astronomy.

Guided tours of Virgo are free for all visitors, and priority is given to schools and academic institutions. However associations, groups of people, or whoever is interested in discovering the interferometer are warmly invited to come too.

Site tours must be booked at least four weeks in advance, considering the following:
– as a general rule, visits are restricted to Tuesday or Saturday mornings;
– individual requests are collected until a minimum number of 15 visitors is reached;
– group visits shall be limited to maximum 60 visitors since no more than 30 persons at a time may visit the internal parts of the interferometer buildings.

The booking form is available clicking here.
To reach the site of EGO, follow the indications available here. No public transport bus service is available to reach the site.

Note that because of the current high demand of visits, any new request will be put on a waiting list of more than one year.

We are sorry about that and do our best to fulfil these expectations.
